A dream which correctly represents unlikely future events is called a precongnitive dream. A telepathic dream is one in which the dreamer becomes aware of someone else's current mental state. In a clairvoyant dream, the dreamer obtains information about the location or physical properties of some distant object, but not from someone else's mind. Precognitive, telepathic, and clairvoyant dreams are referred to as paranormal or psi (psychic) dreams. Paranormal dreams clearly pose a challenge to current scientific conceptions as to how things are supposed to work in the world. But several prominent dream theorists, such a Freud, Jung, Stekel, and Boss, have stongly asserted the existence of paranormal dreams.
